Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents,

Only two weeks to go! Next week Year 6 spend the week at The Kings, getting to know the site and the routines. They have the chance to meet the new tutor groups and make new friends from the other primary schools. I know that week seems strange for us as the familiar faces are missed throughout the week. The focus on their return will be the leavers’ service on Thursday 23rd July at 9.15 am. Please come along as it is our last time to say a proper goodbye. We will also be presenting the trophies for the year to the other children in the school too. It’s always emotional so bring your hankies.

Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents,

This week I would like to share some fantastic news... on Monday we were assessed by a group of representatives from Coventry Cathedral towards achieving our ICONs award. I am delighted to say we have been accredited and are now recognised as an ICON school. Let me explain. ICONS stands for International Cross of Nails school which are found all around the world. Cross of Nails stands for peace and reconciliation. I have included a website for you to find out further details but we have been working towards this award for two and half years (www.crossofnails.org) . It was the initial driver of the peace garden. The children gave a tour, led collective worship and gave a presentation to our visitors, and then we presented all of their written work on peace and reconciliation. They were so impressed by the children and the evidence collected that were clearly meeting the criteria to become an ICON school. I really am delighted; we will have a formal presentation of our award next term.
