Knit and Natter was held in church on the afternoon 26th January brought together 19 ladies who enjoyed knitting, tea cakes and of course a chat. This was the second such an event and by popular request there will be a third get together on Tuesday 20th March at 2pm. Please note previous Knit and Natters have been on a Friday but due to heavy diary happenings this time it will be a Tuesday

People (including men) can bring along their own projects, make baby hats for a maternity unit or hats and scarves for older children which will be sent out as gifts in the Christmas shoe box appeal.

If knitting skills need a brush up there is plenty of help on hand together with needles and wool. It is an ideal opportunity to meet new people with similar interests. All ages and abilities will be welcome.

We're a pretty social lot here at St Andrew's, but sometimes we could do with some new ideas. If you would like to help us broaden our range of social activities, please contact Ann Reed on 01404 850366 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. As ever, the Christingles were made by a willing band of nimble-fingered helpers (I expect they quality-controlled the sweets too!) Here are a couple of photos of the volunteers at work.

Due to unforeseen circumstances (a Royal Wedding) the Plant Sale will now take place on 12 and 13 May 2018. Donations of plants will be welcome, either before the event or on the days. Contact information for this will follow later.

After the last Knit and Natter there were several requests for another event. So, here it is, on Friday 26 January 2018 from 2 to 4 pm. Free tea and cakes will be provided.

Regarding the knitting, there are 2 options:

1. Bring your own project

2. Patterns are available to enable you to knit children's hats. These could either be baby size or child size (suitable for the 2018 Christmas Charity shoeboxes).

If you have spare double knitting wool and/or size 8 or 10 needles, please bring them along. If not, we do have some spares.

Depending on numbers we may meet at 3 Church Lane or in the church. Therefore, please let Sheila Lanning know if you intend to come along so that she can allocacte the appropriate venue.
