19 July 2020

Dear EFP church folk,

A special thank you today to our musicians, for all they’ve given us in our video services and now in church again.
Paul and Amanda have anchored the videos brilliantly and with great style! Leah’s playing and singing has been beautiful; she was able to play ‘live’ at
Payhembury last Sunday, together with Babs. Shelagh stepped into new technological waters too, and recorded lovely music for us; we look forward to her playing in Escot church tomorrow. And Danny’s multi-instrument contributions have added wonderful extra dimensions.

Tomorrow is a significant day in the life of the Otter Vale Mission Community. It will sadly be Steve Weston’s final service, before he retires. We will miss Steve and Cathy greatly. Appropriate farewells are particularly difficult at the moment, but St Mary’s in Ottery are hosting a farewell service.

Confirmation that today there will be:
  1. a  Communion service at Escot church at 10.30am - ‘BYOB’ (bring-your-own-bread).
  2. YouTube service the link is here: https://youtu.be/BnGt2b6gAY0
The online and church services are essentially the same, with the same service sheet

For the Escot church service:
  • please bring bread for Communion for yourself / your household.
  • this approach mitigates the risk of distributing bread.
We will be social distancing.
If you are at increased health risk, you are advised of the risks of attending.

For the Youtube service:
  • As previously, you will need the service sheet (available either in paginated or 'straight' form). Most words won’t be on the screen.

Wednesday’s mid-week Morning Prayer service will be in Payhembury church at 10.30am.

Picture of the week: a new definition of a meeting. (Is meeting with God in prayer in the room allowed?…)

Take care and God bless,
David
