Dear EFP church folk,

I hope you enjoyed Lockdown Pancake Day this week, if you marked it in the traditional culinary fashion.

We step into Lent - 'Springtime for the soul’, as the Bishop of Exeter puts it, a time for refreshment.

Beatitude Number 2 feeds our Lent reflection in tomorrow’s Sunday worship - the paradoxical "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
As we listen to Jesus’s Beatitude songs, this is a 'Song of Tissues and Rainbows'…

YouTube link for the service is HERE and for the reflection alone is HERE
Service sheet (in paginated and 'straight' format) and Bible readings attached

Questions for reflection also attached.

Becky has prepared something special for a Lent prayer diary (attached). Here are a few notes from her to go with the Lent prayer diary…

…………………………………

“ Our prayer diary during Lent is going to take on a slightly different format which I hope you will both enjoy and find encouraging. The diary issued today is the same one to be used throughout Lent.

Firstly, please don’t be over whelmed by its length! You don’t have to ‘plough your way’ through the whole thing every time you look at it!  It is completely up to you how many times through Lent you use it and you can choose to look at is as a whole or break it up into sections.  However, I do think it is helpful to begin with the Pray and Praise each time to focus our thoughts.

I hope you enjoy the slightly creative approach as an alternative way to engage and connect with God, and bring our prayers to life.

God bless and happy praying!
Becky "

Children’s Church (attached) is also special for Lent - a way of being still.

Special thanks to Becky for both.

The Church of England has a series of daily Lent reflections: "LiveLent: God's Story, Our Story”.
These can be received by email or via an app -

One of the house groups is using a related "God's Story, Our Story” booklet.
